FOOD Exporters' Mission to Morocco (Casablanca), United Arab Emirates (Abu Dhabi and Dubai) and Saudi Arabia (Jeddah)

November 21-29, 2010

Are you a well-established food exporter looking to expand into the Middle-East-North Africa market? If so, take advantage of the opportunity to learn about a very dynamic and growing market and meet buyers/importers from Morocco, United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.

The Canadian Food Exporters Association (CFEA), Food Beverage Canada (FBC) and the Quebec-Canada Agrifood Export Group (QCAEG), in cooperation with Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada and Canadian embassies in each market would like to invite all Canadian agri-food companies to participate in this mission. The mission will travel to Casablanca, Morocco, Abu Dhabi and Dubai, United Arab Emirates and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

The mission, which will be held November 21-29, 2010, will provide exposure for quality food exporters interested in supplying the retail and foodservice sector.

The objective of the mission is:

• To raise awareness with Canadian companies of the Middle-East and North Africa as a potential market for high value added products for the retail and foodservice industry;
• to explore opportunities in the region for Canadian value-added products in the retail and foodservice sectors, make contacts, meet with interested importers to continue building relationship between major retailers and distributors and Canadian exporters;
• to gain recognition in the Middle-East and North Africa for Canada as a supplier of high quality, safe food;
• to look at what our competitors have to offer in these markets; and
• to see trends in processed food, value-added products, specialty and organic products in the region.

You are invited to join this mission, which will involve the following destinations:

Casablanca (Morocco) November 21- 23, 2010
Abu Dhabi/Dubai (UAE) November 24- 26, 2010
Jeddah, Saudi Arabia November 27 – 29, 2010

The program will include:

• an overview of the markets by the local trade officers;
• pre-scheduled meetings with potential buyers and local business representatives;
• supermarket and other site visits and,
• Networking receptions and/or organized events to provide opportunities to meet the major importers and distributors in the region.
